Hi Dr. Sridhar
Thanks for your question
Would hesitate to do collagen cross-linking for both the eyes at the same time
I had one patient with assymetrical haze following collagen crosslinking done at different intervals.Infact in one eye the cornea became very thin. I thought it was because of excessive UV exposure and i blamed the Indian machine. I have not seen similar haze using the imported machines
Can you describe the haze ? Anterior stromal ( 1/3rd) or deeper. Is it involving the visual axis ? What is the visual acuity ?
In the presence of epithelial defect , i would hesitate to use strong steroids following collagen crosslinking. Once the epithelail defect is healed and if the haze is significant haze, you can start prednisolone eye drops in a tapering dosage over two weeks and then FML eye drops over 4 weeks starting with 4 times a day
Keep me posted ( depth of haze and corneal thickness)
