Looks like I am the only guy putting up questions.....am I the worst informed in the entire group?? :) :)
A 5 month old infant presented with a smooth nodular growth just under the outer canthus, noticed a couple of days ago. History consistent even on repeat questioning. Looks like a dermoid, but patient unlikely to accept a referral right on day one. I have prescribed some placebo lubricant but am curious whether nsaids like nepafenac or bromfenac can be used in infants. Internet search has not provided any clearcut answers to this question of safety of NSAID eye drops in infants.

Dear Doctor,
The following is the response from Dr. Ramesh Murthy Expert Panel of Oculoplasty & Orbit & Oncology :
Dear Sir
The dermoid is best left alone at this age, unless it is causing severe ptosis or any pressure symptoms.
If there is growth it can be removed by surgery. The CT scan is typical and this can be done if the parents are worried.
thanks
Dr Ramesh Murthy

Sirs
The operative part of my question was reg safety of Nepafenac and/or bromfenac in infants. No literature denying or admitting safety could be located, hence expert opinion sought.
Thanks
